2. Tsukubai

Guests use the tsukubai to dip water from this basin to rinse their mouths and wash their hands. Don has almost finished making it, hollowing it out with a hammer and chisel from a chunk of native granite. The basin is hollowed out of native granite. Guests pause before entering the tea house to wash their hands and cleanse their mouths.
